OSHA Withdrawals Direct Final Rule for Updating OSHA Standards Based on National Consensus Standards

U.S. EPA Adds New Hazardous Waste Listing
On February 24, 2004, U.S. EPA published a final rule adding the following hazardous waste listing: "Nonwastewaters from the production of dyes and/or pigments." The new RCRA waste number is K181. The K181 definition applies to generators of dyes and/or pigments who exceed certain mass loadings for aniline, o-anisidine, 4-chloroaniline, p-cresidine, 2,4-dimethylaniline, 1,2-phenlyenediamine, and/or 1,3-phenylenediamine. Ohio EPA Refresher Training Contract Awarded
In February 2004, Ohio EPA selected Chemtron Corporation to provide OSHA 8-Hour Refresher Training for Ohio EPA employees this year. Chemtron will present approximately 12 training classes for approximately 225 Ohio EPA employees who perform work that falls under the scope of OSHA's Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard. The classes will be held Columbus, Groveport, Logan, Twinsburg, Dayton, and Bowling Green during May and June 2004. The Ohio EPA participants will be made up primarily of hazardous waste inspectors, infectious waste inspectors, Division of Surface Water employees, and site coordinators for Superfund, state lead, and voluntary action sites.

Chemtron Corporation is honored to be selected as the contractor for this important program.



Ohio EPA Renews Chemtron Contract
In April 2005, Ohio EPA renewed its contract with Chemtron Corporation as the contractor for northern Ohio to manage orphan drums. The renewal extends the contract for another year. The orphan drum program is coordinated by Ohio EPA's Office of Special Investigation within the Department of Emergency and Remedial Response. Individuals can call Ohio EPA 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 800-282-9378 or 614-224-0946 to report dumping. Ohio EPA performs or coordinates sampling, analyzation, characterization, transportation, disposal, investigation and enforcement action. Chemtron Corporation takes a partnership role in a many of these steps and is honored to be chosen as the contractor for this important program.

Chemtron Expands Transportation Capabilities In 2005
Chemtron experiences sharp increase in customer demand in 2005.Chemtron transportation manager states: “As demand increases we continue to purchase equipment such as specialized trailers and a new vacuum truck. I anticipate continuing to hire new drivers as well.”
